Trump Tries to Read the Constitution

Trump Continues to Criticize the NFL

In a recent statement President Trump continued to drag out his spat with the NFL players and owners.

“They have rules for everything: You can’t dance in the end zone. You can’t wear the pink socks, relative to breast cancer…They have rules for everything. Why aren’t they honoring this country by enforcing a [anthem standing] rule that’s been in existence for a long time?”

When offered a copy of the Constitution for review, Trump grabbed his head and moaned “Oi vey!”. Unable to distinguish the difference between a sports league’s rules and the written laws of the country, Trump attempted to sign his name in huge letters across the bottom of the document assuming it was an executive order banning a Constitutional right.  Frustrated, he muttered “Who is Senator Hancock? Get me his Twitter handle.”

Ironically, he made his mark over the 1st Amendment, which states:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”

NFL rules do not “trump” the Constitution.
