Trump Dedicates New Gold Watch to Las Vegas Shooting Victims

In an act of presidential benevolence and empathy, President Trump today honored the victims of the Las Vegas shooting with his new gold watch.

This comes on the heels of the worst mass shooting in US history where at least 58 people lost their lives at a concert in Las Vegas. The perpetrator was believed to have suffered from clinical depression throughout his life.

Having come under fire for repealing an Obama era law preventing mentally ill people from purchasing firearms in February, Trump has doubled down stating more guns are the solution. Las Vegas has some of the most lax gun laws in the country and still no one was able to stop the shooter until he killed himself in his hotel room at the Mandalay Bay casino.

In a show of genuine compassion, Trump recently dedicated the President’s Cup golf trophy to all the people living in hotels and fighting for water in Puerto Rico, Florida, and Texas. These places have all been effected by hurricanes which have destroyed homes and killed dozens.

“On behalf of all of the people of Texas, and all of the people – if you look today and see what is happening, how horrible it is, but we have it under really great control – Puerto Rico and the people of Florida who have really suffered over this last short period of time with the hurricanes, I want to just remember them.

“And we’re going to dedicate this trophy to all of those people that went through so much that we love, a part of our great state, really a part of our great nation.”

Many residents of Puerto Rico, watching Trump on the phones of the few people with remaining battery life, were honored by his sentiments.

“We thought he had forgotten about us,” displaced resident Carmen Mendez said as she drank water from a creek, “But the fact that he took the time to mention our island by name at such a star studded event in front of all those millionaires and celebrities,” she continued as she began to tear up, “It means a lot to the people of this island. A lot.”

When asked if she felt Trump was doing enough, Mendez replied,”He said he has everything under really great control and ships are coming. But it’s not easy, this is an island surrounded by water, big water, ocean water.”

Trump has promised to visit the island and monitor progress once his social agenda winds down.

It remains to be seen if the gold watch will be enough to comfort the loved ones and families of the victims of the senseless shooting.
